Seacoast Tree CareDaniel J. Mello has worked in and around plants since the tender age of 8, when he began working for his father, a commercial grower, in Little Compton, RI. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Rhode Island in May of 2000, where he ranked in the top of his plant materials and aboriculture classes. While in school he became a certified Arborist (Rhode Island, 1995), and received the Mario Pagliarini Scholarship for the highest score in a plant identification examination. He became an ISA certified Arborist in 2000, and a Massachusetts certified Arborist in 2002, which is one of the most difficult certification exams in the country. He maintains relationships with most of New England's most talented arborists and professors. He continues to pursue aboriculture education, most recently participating in an intensive course on Integrated Plant Management at the University of Maryland. Upon graduation, Dan worked as a foreman of tree crews in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. He has been in charge of ensuring that his client's plant material receives proper care - from proper pruning practices to establishing plant healthcare programs. His work has taken him through the range of New England tree growing, from downtown Boston to the mountains of New Hampshire. He has had the pleasure of working on such historic properties as the Elms in Newport, Rhode Island, the Blithewald Mansion in Bristol, Rhode Island, and many high end properties in the Boston Area. Dan started Seacoast Tree Care in April of 2003. His firm specializes in plant healthcare, and specialized climbing applications. His company operates at the highest degree of standards, and uses the latest industry breakthroughs. He is in direct contact with all his clients from the initial meetings to the completion of work. His clients get his heart and soul, and the benefits of all of his tree care industry contacts. Dan lives in the Seacoast of New Hampshire with his wife Jennifer and his two step sons Evan and Alex. His hobbies are spending time with his family, hiking, rock and ice climbing. He has traveled to Mexico, Guatemala, and Bolivia on mission projects with his church. |
