5 Tree Insecticides for Effective Pest Control

In the eastern U.S. forests, foreign pests and diseases are responsible for 25% of tree loss. Pest problems are common in home gardens and yards, and they severely hinder the growth of your trees and plants.
Preventing pests and insects should be a part of your lawn maintenance plan. Various safe products are available to protect your trees from infestation. You must follow instructions on the product label before using it. For optimal results, spray early in the morning or late in the evening when the insects are not active.
Here we list five tree insecticides you can use to fight pests and insects:

Neem oil

Environment friendly, it is beneficial for ornamental shrubs and trees in vegetable gardens. Neem oil (azadirachtin) acts as a feeding repellent that can safeguard trees from most pest attacks and diseases. It can also inhibit insect feeding, deregulate their growth, suppress fertility, and alter the development of some pests. Susceptibility to neem varies among different insect species.

Pyrethrum

Products containing 20% to 25% pyrethrins are broad-spectrum insecticides. They have an instant knockdown effect and attack almost all insects and arthropods, including spiders and mites. Pyrethrin is extremely useful as contact sprays, but its outdoor use is limited as sunlight, moisture, and air can easily deactivate it.

Sevin/Carbaryl

Nothing can better control the Japanese beetle’s spread than liquid Sevin spray. Sevin is also effective on many other types of insects, such as fleas, ticks, and ants.

Cyonara Lawn & Garden insect control

Cyonara is an excellent professional-grade insect control spray that treats a wide variety of common pests like spider mites, aphids, fire ants, fleas, and chinch bugs. It works well for shrubs, trees, lawns, yards, vegetables, roses, and flowers. Cyonara is a fast-acting insecticide that offers eight weeks of residual protection.

Fertilome Tree and Shrub Insect Drench

It is most commonly used for crape myrtles and roses. It is dissolvable in water and works by moving down through the soil, where the plant or tree roots absorb it. After absorption, it moves up through the tree or shrub, providing year-long insect protection.
